As you can see from the photos the
upholstery is in a rather sorry state and would probably need replacing.
Ideal project here if you are starting an upholstery class or college
course. With some wear on the seats, a few scuff marks and stains, tears
and holes. The springs and webbing are all still strong though making
these art deco dining chairs very comfortable to sit in. One chair has
suffered some damage at some time in the past which has been glued back
rather crudely (see photo below), this would probably need some
attention from a restorer. Some of the other joints do have a slight wobble but the joints are
all good which is
an indication that the original glue has just dried out over the years.
